On Sept. 8, 2017, the Center for Education, Identity and Social Justice hosted their inaugural event, the Summit on (De)Institutionalizing Islamophobia on College Campuses. Over 90 faculty, professionals, and students came from 20 different organizations such as Asian Americans Advancing Justice, Brandeis University, Interfaith Youth Core, and Stanford University. In April 2017, Addressing Access and Success: A USC Blueprint for Expanding the College Pipeline was released. USC President C. L. Max Nikias led a delegation of USC trustees, deans, and senior administrators to Washington D.C. to meet with distinguished government officials about the pressing issues affecting higher education. President Nikias presented our Center’s report on college access during the visit.
